Abstract :
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is one promising wireless transmission technique that can provide high bit rates and can support a multitude of services. We use an OFDM transceiver complying with the physical layer of the Hiperlan/2 protocol. We examine the suitability and evaluate the performance of such an advanced radio technology in industrial multipath environments. This is achieved by using actual channel measurements of industrial indoor environments coming from two different sites that are used in the simulation. The performance is measured for both static and time varying channels. In addition, we consider channel estimation methods. The estimators examined are the least square (LS) and the linear minimum mean square estimator (LMMSE). Results for the different transmission modes of Hiperlan/2 are presented
