Abstract :
This paper reports the performance analysis of a contention-based TDMA-TDD MAC protocol for broadband wireless-wireline systems, suitable to effectively support mobile multimedia traffic. Time slots are assigned to the mobile terminals under the control of the base station, according to the maximum allowed cell delay of the different flows. The resources assigned to each multimedia terminal can be redistributed among its component flows according to the relative priority of each component within the overall multimedia connection and to the quality of each component
