Abstract
Channel estimation based on the averaging process of estimated instantaneous channel coefficients using pilot symbols is introduced The frequency domain analysis method of mean square error (MSE) of the estimated coefficients is proposed and a closed-form of the optimal averaging symbol number is presented. The analysis and its results help to adaptively optimize the averaging interval for channel estimation
