Abstract
The authors design the two sliding mode control algorithms for the (α, β) model of induction motors using block control linearization technique. Adaptive observers are designed to estimate the state variables (the rotor flux), the disturbance (the load torque), and the plant parameters (the rotor resistance and the moment of inertia) assuming that the rotor speed and the stator current are measurable
