Abstract :
This paper presents a method to design decentralized controllers for nonlinear electric power systems. The nonlinearities are handled through a feedback linearization approach, which is applied to each generating unit in the system. Decentralization is achieved by using disturbance accommodation control techniques, where models for the nonlinear interconnections between generators are developed. A three-machine nine-bus power system is used to illustrate the proposed methodology. Nonlinear simulation of the controlled system demonstrates the effectiveness of the control design
