Abstract
A Bayes error approach for selecting and evaluating the features necessary to monitor batch reaction system product properties is developed. These features are intended for use in a statistically based procedure that determines off specification batch product based on on-line process measurements. The approach is demonstrated with operating data from an industrial batch polymerization reaction system
