Abstract :
This paper describes a generic pattern for performing transition management in reconfigurable hybrid control systems. This is based on an examination of the hybrid systems literature as well as experience in building hybrid control systems for extreme-performance applications. The generic pattern is built upon the Open Control Platform, which is a middleware-based substrate for integrating and dynamically reconfiguring distributed control applications. The generic pattern encapsulates the reconfiguration decision logic, the re-wiring strategy and the blending function as separate modular entities that can be specified and easily changed by the control system designer. Its use is illustrated in multiple hybrid system examples
