Abstract
The paper extends a previously proposed simulation framework to reduce overheads while maintaining realism (I. Burintramart and S. Ohara, 1998; 1999). Object structure is represented by a set of volumetric cells with cores residing in them. External forces applied on the object are propagated within object volume by the relocation of cores from one cell to another, thus creating deformations and displacement. As reactions are determined from within object geometry, physical accuracy is presumably high. Moreover, since object elements are considered as volume with some properties, they require less calculation than for node-link relationships suggested in previous work (I. Burintramart and S. Ohara, 2000). Object structure, deformations and displacement, and some experimentation are described
