Abstract
We propose a flow-based admission control algorithm for quality of service (QoS) provisioning in the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)-based multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) backbone network. In the MPLS label edge router (LER), this algorithm can achieve reliable delay bounded QoS provisioning and high resource utilization using flow-based traffic classification through differentiated services (DiffServ) mapping
