  • Abstract
Process gain variations deeply affect the stability of the Dahlin control system. Using the root locus method, a stability criterion for the Dahlin control system in the presence of process gain variations is derived. The root locus is with respect to the desired closed-loop time constant. Based on the stability criterion, it can be obtained that if the desired closed-loop time constant increases, the stability gain interval will expand. The process with larger time constant has smaller stability gain interval. Numerical examples verify the conclusions
