            Abstract :
Rate-based traffic control problem for ABR communication in ATM network is discussed by means of control theory. The deadbeat control is provided aiming at the propagation delay in the network, which makes system response reach stabilization in the limited beat strictly. Therefore, it can be achieved that the sent rate of sources responses to the changes of network status rapidly, and the adverse effect in rapidity and stability caused by the delay is overcome. The proposed method can avoid the congestion effectively, reduce cell loss rate and have a simple structure. The simulation result shows the efficiency of the scheme
