Abstract :
This paper proposes a new scheduling method to improve fair sharing between service classes and the service fairness among optical network units (ONUs). The proposed method uses a credit pool for each ONU and for each service class. For the service fairness between ONUs, the credit pool of a service class can be negative amount. Also for fair sharing of the upstream channel, the unused credit of a service class is utilized for the negative credit pool of other service classes. Using simulations, we show that the proposed method enhances the service fairness and outperforms the existing methods in mean frame delay.
