Abstract
Nuclear main pump is an important device in nuclear plant, in which the working condition is much wretched. In order to extend its working life and increase its working efficiency, it is necessary to do some surface modification to the inner wall of pump. Cold spraying is a new technique that can enhance the pump performance. In this study, numerical investigation was conducted to study the role of material properties, especially yield strength, in cold spraying for the surface modification of nuclear main pump. It is found that materials with small yield strength is helpful to the deformation behavior and thus promotes the bonding strength in cold spraying.
