Abstract
This study examines a new concept called network competence. Based on the investigation of network competence dimensions, 219 questionnaires distributed to new ventures in Chinese regions, and a comparison research conducted by using single step dimension, two-step four dimensions and three-step four dimensions measurement model. As the result shown, network competence can be conceptualized as composed of two dimensions: task execution and qualification, and then task execution can be further divided into relation-specific task execution and cross -relational task execution, and qualification is categorized into social qualification and specialist qualification. Through the development of network competence measurement scale, this study provides a operational foundation for the localization measurement and further research of this new concept.
