Abstract
Electric vehicle has been proved to be a way to solve the global warming and the dwindling oil resources. The construction of the charging station can ensure the development of the electric vehicles. In the paper, the model to forecast the electric vehicles ownership is presented firstly, which is based on the Grey prediction model and the national statistical data for the civil vehicles ownership. By using the GM(1,1) model the randomness degree is greatly weakened and the stability is greatly increased in the forecasting of the EV ownership. Then the method to calculate the total count of the charging infrastructure is presented. With the prediction of the electric vehicles ownership and the total amount of the charging infrastructure, a low cost and energy saving charging system can be ensured.
