Abstract
Security for conducting businesses online is vital and critical. Phishing is a security attack that seeks to trick people into revealing sensitive information about themselves and their Internet accounts. Countries around the world are working to reduce the impact of Phishing. In this paper, research was conducted to introduce and analyze a high level (a country-based) anti-phishing countermeasure implemented in Saudi Arabia. An investigation was carried out to examine whether this countermeasure is effective against phishing scenarios. The countermeasure is considered effective when Phishing websites are reached by users who surf the Internet inside Saudi Arabia whereas it is ineffective when the websites are reached by users who surf the Internet from outside Saudi Arabia.
