Abstract
We propose a centralized optical monitoring scheme in a passive optical network based on the 2-D optical frequency hopping/periodic coding scheme with the network recognition algorithm that converts the decoding operation into an electronic field. The analytical model for multiple-customers interference probability (MCIP) is developed and investigated. The results show that the small correlation distance and the low MCIP are achieved. Finally, we validate the feasibility of the scheme.
