Abstract :
We present a multi-stage hybrid optimization approach to linear precoder design in multiuser MIMO systems and propose two efficient iterative algorithms that also incorporate robustness against channel estimation errors. The first one called hybrid diversity maximization robust (HDMR) precoding employs a dual-stage optimization process and achieves exceptional transmission performance at low complexity in various multiuser scenarios. The second algorithm known as enhanced HDM (EHDM) precoding adopts a three-stage optimization strategy and provides better performance than HDMR in certain full spatial multiplexing scenarios where multiple data streams are transmitted to each of the simultaneous users.
