Abstract :
Design teams are trying to find ways to overcome the apparently random nature of electronic interference. The ongoing uncertainty around using electronic devices in-flight reflects the problem of determining electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - whether a device will affect other systems adversely or will itself generate errors because of a strong source of interference nearby.
