Abstract :
A simple method is proposed to estimate the calibration factors from the image digital number (DN) in order to determine the linear relation of the scattering coefficient to the log-transformed DN. Taking the expectation and variance on the linear relation, and modeling the scattering coefficient as the K distribution, the analytical expressions of such estimators are obtained for linear receiver and square-law receiver. Monte Carlo simulation results demonstrate that the proposed calibration factor estimators lead to high estimating accuracy, so they are efficient for estimating the calibration factors from the DN.
