Dr. Martin M. Perlman (1930-2013) [DEIS news]

Recounts the life and professional achievements of Dr. Martin (Marty) M. Perlman a pioneer in the field of electrets, charge storage, and transport in electrically insulating solids. Among Marty\´s many awards and honors were fellowships of the Institute of Physics (London, F.Inst.P., 1972) and of the American Physical Society (elected in 1978). He received "Distinguished Professor" awards at CMR over several years (1981-1984; 1988) and served on the boards of several learned societies, for example the National Academy of Sciences/ National Research Council (NAS/NRC, Washington, 1978-1980) and the IEEE DEIS (1981-1984).
