Abstract :
This paper describes a method of supporting stiffness control of a rotating spherical superconducting rotor for passing through critical speeds. In this method, the vibration of the superconducting rotor due to rotation is controlled by changing the supporting stiffness. In the analysis, the exact solution of the rotation system controlled by this method is derived. Numerical calculations have been performed and experimental tests also carried out to verify the present control method and the theoretical results.
