Abstract :
Silicon photonics wavelength-division-multiplexing filters are important building blocks in >100 G transceivers and near future on-chip communications between many cores. This paper deals with four kinds of wavelength-division-multiplexing filters: they are, ring resonators, lattice-form filters, arrayed-waveguide gratings and planar Echelle gratings. Progress and technical challenges for these filter devices will be described.
