Abstract :
The article discusses the method of complex calculation of mechanical strength characteristics for overhead transmission line section taking into account the main environmental factors such as wind load, ice coating thickness and ambient temperature. Depending on the environmental conditions one can calculate the safety factor of the line components and take proper measures to keep their values within tolerances. The authors developed an algorithm and an analytical model, which are both transparent and universal enough.
