Abstract :
This article presents the research results of the static and dynamic elastography methods capability to quantitative evaluation of soft tissues elasticity, which could significantly improve the accuracy of ultrasound diagnostics. The physical models of both methods and schemes of experimental installments are presented. It is shown that quantitative evaluation of soft tissue shear modulus is possible with use of any ultrasonic medical scanner working in B-mode. The ultimate sensitivity of static and dynamic elastography methods to insufficient changes in shear modulus is investigated.
