  • Abstract
    We propose a polarization division multiplexing (PDM) WDM-PON architecture based on intensity modulation and coherent detection. Single carrier frequency domain equalization (SCFDE) technique is used to effectively combat the linear distortion. And 2×2 multiple inputs multiple outputs (MIMO) algorithm is used to remove the crosstalk between the two orthogonal polarizations. 20-Gb/s PDM-BPSK transmission over 50-km SSMF is experimentally demonstrated.
