Abstract :
There is the wayside type of ESS. In Korea, we developed and installed the wayside ESS on the track of Daejeon HRT in 2010. We have already known that the wayside ESS saves much energy about 20% of consumption energy. There is another type of ESS. This is the on-board ESS. Currently, we study the on-board ESS to save more energy. This paper presents how much energy is saved. The simulations are focused on energy saving rate.
