Abstract
Real time radar imaging is desirable in a number of applications like robot navigation and land mine detection. However, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) techniques may be hard to speed up due to the inherent scanning required. Achieving a high frame rate in radar imaging necessitates the use of a physical aperture instead of the often used SAR and thus the need for fairly compact and cost effective equipment arises. This paper investigates the use of nine single chip transceivers exploring both RX and TX beamforming in close range for frame rate.
