Abstract
In this work the effect of nanostructuring an epoxy resin by introducing POSS (Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxanes) is investigated. Dielectric spectroscopy, thermal conductivity measurements and surface erosion by electrical discharges have been conducted. Epoxy/POSS composites have shown a remarkably improved resistance to electrical discharges along with a significant increase of thermal conductivity compared to the neat epoxy.
