Abstract
Aiming at a series hybrid electric bus of demonstrating operation in Zhuzhou, China, this paper chooses actual text data of Zhuzhou city as driving cycle and uses energy flow chat as analysis method. The fuel economy influence on hybrid powertrain with Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) idling stop strategy is analyzed. With Zhuzhou driving cycle, electric auxiliary average power of 5kW, APU idling stop strategy, the fuel economy of hybrid powertrain can be increased by 19% compared with conventional fuel bus. Meanwhile, fuel economy is improved by 3.39% compared with control methods of APU running constantly.
