Abstract
This paper proposes a new impedance-source inverter named as magnetically coupled T-source inverters (MTSI). The proposed circuit employs a three-winding coupled transformer and a capacitor formed in T-shape to produce a higher voltage gain in comparison with the traditional Z-source inverter (ZSI), Trans-Z-source inverter (trans-ZSI) and Z-source inverters (ZSI). While maintaining the main features of the previously presented impedance-source network, the new network exhibits an unique characteristic, that is its voltage gain can be raised not only by decreasing the first turn ratio αmT, but also by increasing the second turn ratio βmT of the coupled transformer. Simulation results are conducted to validate the analysis.
