Abstract :
In electrical vehicles (EVs), the DC/DC converter is needed to interface high voltage power battery with 12 V electrical system. The converter is required to adapt the wide range input voltage as well as low-voltage high-current output. Moreover, the converter needs high efficiency and high power density. This paper investigates a two-stage converter with high efficiency including two-phase interleaved Boost converter and full-bridge LLC converter. Firstly the design of the two-stage converter is studied. Then the loss breakdown analysis is given. The conversion efficiency of the two-stage converter is evaluated with both theoretical analysis and experiment. A 1.5 kW prototype is built to verify the analysis.
