  • Abstract
Because of the addition of water tree resistant material, TR-XLPE power cable costs about 5%-20% higher compared to the ordinary XLPE. To evaluate the water tree retardant ability of TR-XLPE cable, four kinds of tests are taken: broadband dielectric frequency spectrum test (BDS), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), AC voltage endurance evaluation and infrared spectroscopy. Variations of water tree retardant for XLPE in before and after aging characteristic parameters are investigated.
