  • Abstract
    East Japan Railway Company (JR East) has developed the catenary and storage battery hybrid train system using a test car for the purpose of through operation service between electrified section and non-electrified section and decreasing environmental impact of diesel trains operating. We will develop commercial train Series EV-E301 applied this hybrid system and start operation in March of 2014. We introduce the catenary and storage battery hybrid system and technical items in this paper.
