Abstract :
Study on the effect of solid solution treatment and aging process on mechanical properties of welded joint of 6063 aluminium alloy, the results show that, for the welded joint of 6063 aluminium alloy, solution treatment at 500 °C for 1h followed by water quenching is an ideal solution system. Artificial aging at 175 °C for 8h is the bes t aging system, as in this treatment produced the highest tensile strength of the joint, a uniform grains, and a more average hardness. In industrialized production may be considered aging at 200 °C for 2h instead of aging at 175 °C for 8h to improve efficiency. Mechanical properties obtained by the two aging system is closer, can meet the power industry standards of alloy 6063.
