Abstract :
This paper describes high efficiency chopper applying SiC-MOSFETs to soft switching method with partial turn-off. This chopper basically operates by digitally gate control with partial turn-off switching using FPGA under high frequency of 100 kHz and 25 kHz. For confirming effectiveness by partial turn-off and applying SiC-MOSFETs, the 8kW rating test, efficiency measurement and principal operational test have been completed and efficiency of 98.4 % at 25 kHz was obtained.
