Abstract
This paper presents an input current ripple analysis of inverter fed dual three-phase induction motors. Four types of modulation strategies are compared. The first is single-carrier with zero phase displaced modulation signals, second is single carrier with 30° phase displaced modulation signals, third is double carrier with zero phase displaced modulation signals, and fourth is double carrier with 30° phase displaced modulation signals. Analysis results show that the third results in the lowest input current ripple. Experimental results are included to show the validity of the proposed analysis method.
