Abstract
A backstepping controller (BC) is developed to eliminate harmonic contamination and improve the quality of power supply for three-phase active power filter (APF) in this paper. To deal with the nonlinearity of APF, the backstepping method is applied in the design of current tracking control system. The proposed backstepping controllers can ensure proper tracking of the reference current, and impose a desired dynamic behavior, giving robustness and insensitivity to parameter variations. Simulation studies in the MATLAB/SimPowerSystems Toolbox demonstrate the high performance of the proposed backstepping control strategy.
