  • Abstract
    This paper introduces the Intelligent Voltage Regulator (VR) as a key element of the Voltage/VAR Control (VVC) system for a Conservation Voltage Reduction plan. It describes principles and applications of the VR. A case study of Duke Energy Smart Grid - Distribution System Demand Response shows that the use of the VVC system, including thousands of VR´s, produced significant performance improvement and energy savings.
