  • Abstract
    This paper presents an alternative solution to the conventional cruise controller of a hybrid electric vehicle based on the sliding mode control approach. The mathematical model of a hybrid electric vehicle cruise control system is developed. Then, the sliding mode control approach is applied as the controller. The sliding mode control stability is investigated and demonstrated. Thereafter, the system is simulated and the results are presented.
