Abstract
A novel reconfigurable PCB antenna for 2.4 GHz wireless consumer product is proposed in this paper. The emphasis is to reduce the design and development time, and hence Time to Market. The proposed antenna and mechanical reconfiguration methodology have been verified from measurements by fabricating the antenna on various PCB size. FR4 PCB is chosen since it is widely used in industry for most consumer products. The radiating part of the proposed antenna is 20 mm × 8 mm including clearance area. The antenna proposed yields good performance i.e. S11 below -10 dB for as small as 20 mm × 15 mm PCB size to 100 mm × 100 mm.
