Abstract
This article presents a novel plate Luneberg lens which is based on the parallel plate waveguide filled with drilled dielectric material. To obtain effectively refractive index distribution, several small holes of nonuniform density are drilled in this dielectric. In order to meet Luneberg Law´s requirement on the edge region, the thickness of the substrate is modified by the boundary conditions of electromagnetic fields. As the feeding structure, a single-ridge waveguide is integrated into this plate lens antenna.
