Abstract
Near range microwave imaging techniques have broad applications in the field of concealed weapon detection, biomedical imaging, non-destructive testing, etc. Imaging systems using monostatic arrays require either a large number of antennas or a mechanical scan servo-control system. In this paper, a near filed imaging system operating at Ka band with multistatic orthogonal array is introduced, which would greatly reduce the number of T/R modules and improve the stability for system operation. Furthermore, the imaging reconstruction algorithms based on digital beam formulation (DBF) is described. The imaging results of both measurements and simulations are presented and have shown good agreement.
