Abstract :
In this paper, a miniaturized Marchand balun is designed, which is used for the IF signal transformation of the THz focal plane arrays. In order to reduce the size of the THz front-ends, low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology is adopted. Based on multilayer spiral coupled transmission lines, the balun owns high coupling coefficient as well as compact structure. The measured results show s11 and insertion loss are -17.5dB and 3.92dB at 1.5 GHz respectively, which agree with the simulated ones.
