Abstract
This article reports the application of the technology roadmapping method to plan the development of measurement systems for Oil & Gas sector. Although it is a well-known strategic planning method to align product development decisions with market and technology, it has not been properly demonstrated in the literature to provide insight to companies on how to implement it. Thus, a step-by-step systematic of technology roadmapping is described herein, which is applied through a case study on measurement systems seeking understand how it performs in practice. The results show its usefulness in designing alternative system over time associated with market opportunities and technologies providing guidelines for practical implementation of technology roadmapping and methodological improvements.
