Abstract
According to the specific features of the object of separation the separating unit is selected to ensure maximum extraction of ferromagnetic impurities. For proper choice of construction it is necessary the separation process to be examined in details. The paper examines the results of an experimental study of lattice type separator with labyrinth type placement of the permanent magnets. It is designed for separation of ferromagnetic inclusions in organic products (e.g. raw cocoa). The conducted experiment is planned and an approach to determine some parameters of the product is proposed, which significantly affect the process of separation. For this purpose, it is designed and implemented an algorithm for determining the functional state of the mixture.
