Abstract
Increasing wind penetration will pose a challenge to power system frequency regulation and stability. It is likely that wind generation will be required to provide frequency response in support of the power system. It is vital for transmission system operators that the frequency support capability of wind generation under changing wind conditions is predictable and verifiable. A novel approach to estimating the combined droop and inertial response from varying wind conditions is presented in this paper.
