Abstract
An IIR filter design procedure, based on amplitude and phase response approximations of the FIR prototype has been presented in the paper. The procedure comprises not only calculation of coefficients of both filters, but also their order calculation based on specified parameters. Numerous examples demonstrate the application of the proposed method for filter design tasks. Comparison of filter parameters obtained by the discussed approach and by the direct method has been presented.
