Abstract :
This paper summarized the characteristics and regularity of overheating in power transmission and transformation equipment. With aspect of the working conditions and the environments of the power transmission and transformation equipment, we investigated the degradation mechanism of the electrical contact elements based on corrosion, temperature and micro-motion. The role in the electrical fittings construction process on the electrical power system was also considered. In addition, we evaluated the electrical joint compound in the electrical contact, which demonstrated an obvious reduce in the loss of electricity and greatly improvement in the corrosion resistance of the metal conductor. With this electrical joint compound in the metal faying surfaces, the metal contact resistance was reduced by ca. 35%, and the tapping temperature was reduced by about 10 °C. The power loss and voltage loss were consequently reduced. Meanwhile, the corrosion resistance ability of the metal conductor was improved, and the stability and reliability of the metal conductor connections were enhanced, too.
