  • Abstract
This paper presents an Integrated Excitation and Turbine Control solution for steam-turbine generator system in order to improve power plant dynamic and transient stability. Firstly, the design philosophy and working principle of integrated excitation and turbine control strategy are introduced. Secondly, a simplified power system model is setup in which the IETC controller is implemented for a reference 600MW steam-turbine generator. By comparing the generator performance under different fault scenarios, the proposed solution demonstrates its operational benefits in terms of oscillation damping, first swing stability enhancement, and the reduced risk of out-of-step tripping.
